Why Does My Border Collie Puppy Run Around In Circles

If he is inside and we corner him to make him stop he will run small circles in the space he has. I dont mind, I think its funny, I was wondering if this is common in dogs or what it means, thanks.

Puppies and young dogs may also enjoy an occasional game of tail-chasing and spinning every now and then, and numerous dogs will walk in a few. Artie is by no means a puppy -- he's 5 years old -- but he gets what I call "the hypers" every couple of days. He runs in circles, up the stairs, down the stairs, careening off a bed or two, laps around the coffee table, in and out of rooms, back in circles, on and on. I have 3 week old Border Collie Puppies. Friday morning the puppy was fine but by lunchtime the puppy had a severe head tilt to the left and is now starting to walk in circles. There is no vomiting and he feeds well. His sister has started doing the same thing 2 days later.
Usually, with the zoomies, a dog will show repetitive behavior like running around in circles, taking laps around the yard, or continuously circling the dining room table. I simply stated that running in circles is one classic form of OCD, and if you find your pup running in endless circles to entertain itself, then you should stop that. I have two dogs who run in circles, one well bred, one poorly bred. Breeding has nothing to do with it. Border collies as a whole can tend toward obsessive behavior. Fortunately, most animals experiencing border collie collapse recover within half an hour -- but the episodes repeat themselves if the dog strenuously exercises. The exact cause of border collie collapse is unknown as of 2014, but research is ongoing. For a workaholic border collie, being forced into a life as a couch potato is tough to take.
